President's Challenge
www.presidentschallenge.org
The President's Challenge, a program of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, is most well known for the
traditional physical fitness test in schools. That test is still available but the program has grown to offer a variety of options for all
age groups and fitness levels. The Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) recognizes any age group for being physically active on a regular basis.
The requirements for adults are 30 minutes per day (60 for youth), five days per week for a period of six weeks. For those already active the President's
Challenge offers the Presidential Champions program. This online program will keep track of your physical activities and give you points.
The more vigorous the activity the more points, the longer you do it, the more points, see a pattern? There are different point levels so that everyone
can earn the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards simply for being active.
